Unique, tangy, waxy.
Made from the Friulano variety, classic to the extreme northeast of Italy in the region of Friuli, I've been reviewing this delightful wine for the past five vintages.
This vintage shows the most variation from previous the notes are classic, lanolin/beeswax with lemon curds, nettle and bitter greens with a mineral core. The palate is more angular this year with a tangy, citrus pith and kaffir lime lilt, yet a waxy or soapy texture.
Pair: fish, salads, appetizers, spaghetti e oilio or cheese and veg quiche.
