A rare red variety that originated in northern Italy's Trentino this juicy red was fermented and aged (13 months) in French oak barrels.
It's a fragrant amalgamation of violets and coronation grapes, small purple berries and cedar chips, star anise, pipe tobacco, cocoa and white pepper. The entry is smooth, red and purple high-toned fruit is melded with grilled herbs, oak spice and bitter cocoa flavours trail across the finish.
A definitive food wine for red sauces, polenta with wild mushrooms, pizza or fatty meats in fragrant sauces.
