Poise, precision, elegance.
The close-knit Taittinger family has managed this Champagne House for nearly a century, always with the pursuit of excellence. Pierre Emmanuel Taittinger shares the company with his son Clovis and daughter Vitalie.
Maison Taittinger is located right in Reims.
The Comtes is the flagship, the iconic and finest example of Champagne from the Taittinger portfolio. Made entirely from Chardonnay from five Grands Crus villages (Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Oger, Mesnil-sur-Oger), it is aged 10 years in Taittinger's chalk quarry cellars beneath Saint-Nicaise in Reims before release. There is also a rose version made with Pinot Noir.
This blanc de blancs is my favourite, it's elegance in liquid form with acacia and warm apple pastries, creamy lemon and mineral tones. Fresh, a lovely bead and pristine character, it has poise and tautness the others in the portfolio don't quite succeed to.
Outstanding.
