Lively, stylish, complex.
The flagship white wine for Clos du Soleil is a version of Bordeaux blanc; it combines Sauvignon Blanc with Semillon.
Located on Similkameen Valley's Upper Bench, Clos du Soleil (vineyard of the sun) is an artisan winery making Bordeaux-influenced wines that reflect their home terroir, they also adhere to the philosophies of minimal-interventionist winemaking and biodynamic viticulture.
Capella is the estate's flagship white, a blend of 71% Sauvignon Blanc and 29% Semillon from Keremeos.) fermented entirely in barrel (French oak puncheons) and the majority underwent wild, spontaneous fermentation. All lots were barrel aged for nine months, on the lees, with lees stirring.
Honey and beeswax, grass clippings, lemon and yellow fruit aromas lead to a zesty palate with lively pomelo flavours. Stylish and pristine with a slight creaminess in the mouth. Good complexity and length.
