Pinot Noir maestro, Grant Stanley heads up the winemaking at Spearhead these days, so there's no surprise we're seeing additional SKUs of Pinot.
The Golden Retreat Vineyard is a western aspect site near Summerland with a south facing exposure. The vines (Dijon and Pommard clones) were planted in its volcanic soils in 2008/2009. The wine was matured 13 months in 100% French oak barrels.
Expect spicy cherries, vanilla, rhubarb, leather, and tealeaf with undertones of smoked bacon. It has a supple entry, good structure and notable brightness and savoury character.
