Simple, dry, tart.
Rascallion is a new negociant, established in 2018, in Stellenbosch. They source wines from Stellenbosch, the Swartland, Darling, Roberston and Piekenierskloof to make approachable, fun and unpretentious products.
With Love From The Cape is one of those collections, it has five wines in total including this rose made entirely from Pinotage.
A light salmon-pink it suggests wildflowers, wild strawberry, orange peel, cedar and fine peppery spice aromas. It is dry and earthy suggesting tart red berries, band-aid, spice and dusty citrus flavours. The finish is pithy and overall it has good bones.
