Portugal's varieties, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz are blended with Syrah to make this interesting and unique wine from Lisboa region's Obidos DOC.
Formed by gentle hills, Lisboa wine region extends from the capital of Portugal to the north along the coast in a range not exceeding 40 km in width. The climate is temperate with Atlantic influences, a relatively mild summer; it is cooler and wetter in the areas closer to the sea, warmer and drier inland in areas protected by Montejunto mountain.
Grapey aromas are underscored by black currents and roasted coffee, smoked meat and peppery spices, chocolate covered plums and wild herbs.
The palate is where the rustic really takes root, fresh and savoury with an edgy meaty side, it provides a good amount of sweet dark fruit and toasted spice flavours.
