Savoury, restrained, textural .
Lakeside Cellars is a 14-acre estate on the eastern shore of Lake Osoyoos. It rests on what used to be the Haynes Homestead. Unable to save the existing structure, new owners Harbans and Harkesh Dhaliwal used parts of the historic estate when building their new tasting room in 2016.
This Cabernet was harvested from the Desert Valley Vineyard on the Golden Mile Bench and was matured in neutral French and American oak for 24 months.
The 2018 suggests aromas of green olives and black peppercorns, currants and red plum, leather and toasted spice. It's a textural red with restrained palate fruit and is dominated by black chocolate, toasted spice, espresso and roasted bell pepper flavours. It has a borderline brooding personality and firm character.
