Valley Commons is a winery established in the District Wine Village in Oliver in 2021. It is owned by Rudy Verhoeff and Kyla Richey, former professional volleyball athletes. They also purchased Stoneboat, an established winery on the Black Sage Gravelbar, also in Oliver. Both wineries fall under the Verhoeff Group of Companies, which is headed by Paul Verhoeff, Rudy's father. The family also owns a flooring company, a brewery and restaurants in the Fraser Valley.
Garden Society is 58% Merlot with Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet France that was aged in French oak for 15 months.
Spiced tobacco and tangy red fruit aromas are layered with balsamic and brine, salted licorice, leather and wild herbal tones. It has a supple entry and is dominated by spice, cocoa and earthy flavours. It has notable acidity and chalky tannins across the palate.
