Substantial, silky, succulent.
The Vanessa Vineyard wines hail from the poor, rocky hillside soils of the southerly Similkameen Valley. The 75-acre estate rests on rocky sloped and well-drained soils.
It has always been a substantial wine and this vintage it shows smoked meat and cherries, blackberries and peppery spices, vanilla and undertones of violets. It has a silky attack and is juicy yet intense. Even with some age it has some youthful angles. Expect flavours of high-toned berries and spice with a slightly saponaceous character.
