Savoury, intense, smooth.
This estate grown blend of Merlot (60%) and Cabernet Franc (40%) comes direcrtly from Fort Berens' Dry Creek Vineyard. The components were fermented and aged separately for 15 months in French oak barrels (40% new).
It's notably savoury, think smoked meat and salted licorice alongside plums and black currants, coffee toasted spice, leather and tobacco. On the palate it has a smooth entry with good structure overall. More red fruit showing here along with spice and tobacco flavours.
