Intense, woven, fresh.
The Gran Selezione tier is the highest level of Chianti Classico wines. This one, from Carpineto comes from a small estate vineyard located in Dudda in Greve in Chianti.
The nose is intense and earthy; wild Italian herbs, spiced black chocolate, salted prunes and dried strawberries, licorice root and balsamico. Very fresh despite some maturity, it has power and a firm structure, it's nicely woven and and has chalky tannins across the palate.
