Elegant, complete, silky.
Located in the Okanagan Falls sub-GI, Meyer Family Vineyards specializes in premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from estate vineyards under the winemaking guidance of Chris Carson.
The 2018 Micro Cuvee Pinot Noir is blended from selected barrels from their McLean Creek Road vineyard. It went through a full malolactic fermentation and was matured in French oak barrels (40% new) and was aged for 11 months. Made in a hands-off approach supporting an expression of terroir,it is also unfined and unfiltered.
It’s flagrant affinity to those Pinots from Pommard is thanks to its high percentage of clone 91; it also benefits from the aromatics of clone 115.
Truly outstanding, it is perfumed with raspberry and sweet cherries, cedar chips and cardamom, star anise, cocoa nibs and lovely undertones of violets. The palate is just as pristine as the nose suggests; high-toned red fruit flavours are woven with fine spice, wildflowers and leather. It has a silky texture and sort of bouncy/juicy character but it remains elegant and complete.
A beautifully constructed wine.
