Elegant, frangrant, supple.
Pinot Noir maestro, Grant Stanley heads up the winemaking at Spearhead these days, so the Pinots are in great hands.
Starting with the 2019 vintage he began releasing three site specific and unfiltered Pinots (includes Golden Retreat and Coyote), which were fermented for 13 months in French oak.
The Saddle Block is located at Spearhead, on their estate vineyard in South Kelowna. The vines (Dijon 115, 777,667 and 828) are rooted at 1550ft ASL in glacial loam consisting of sand, silt and clay with southern and northern exposure.
A fragrant and elegant wine, it delivers dulcet notes of raspberry and cherry, vanilla and orange peel along with forest floor, beets, and straw. The palate is supple and juicy. It has great structure and balance and flavours that echo the nose. The finish trail leather and plummy tones.
