Savoury, juicy, classic
Quails' Gate continues to produce some of British Columbia and Canada's best Pinot Noir. Their premium Family Reserve is made in limited quantities. The newly released 2019 was aged in French oak and suggests, red cherry, red currents and pomegranate alongside vanilla, dried violets, cocoa, wet cedar and tealeaf aromas.
The entry is juicy; it is an earthy wine, spicy and savoury with small red berry flavours along with arugula, leather and rooibos tea. It is medium-bodied and has a spicy, bitter cocoa finish.
Pair: Salmon, pork or earthy dishes such as roasted beets, mushroom risotto or squash ravioli.
