Vibrant, fruity, tangy.
Regional wine pioneer Fort Berens, is located at the base of the Fraser Canyon, near Lillooet where they make mostly estate-only wines.
The 2020 is made entirely from Lillooet Pinot Noir (with splashes of Merlot and Cab Franc)and is a brilliant watermelon pink with notes of strawberry muddled with blood orange and rhubarb atop salt-rubbed herbs, crystalized honey and whiffs of faint white pepper. Tart red fruits and citrus pith, spice and tealeaf flavours line the palate.
Fresh and vibrant overall, almost a hint of spritz on the tongue, and a suggestion of umami on the finish.
