The Similkameen's original winery, Crowsnest Vineyards is a second generation Heincke family-run estate.
It's been a decade or longer since I've tried their wines and I have to say I was delighted to receive a box of samples to see what's happening with the wine program.
This Pinot Noir suggests vanilla, raspberry, cocoa, licorice and forest floor with hints of bitter orange. The entry is supple, it shows good power and flavours of rocky soil, bacon fat, wild herbs and bittersweet cocoa.
