Racy, classic, slick.
Pioneering one of BC's youngest wine regions, Fort Berens (named after a trading post, which was located on their property some 150 years ago) is located Lillooet, BC in the Fraser Canyon.
While they do have Gruner Veltliner (an Austrian variety) planted on their estate, the grapes for this vintage come from Bordertown.
It's a racy variety overall and this version shows classic GV character: lemon balm and fresh mountain stream, kaffir lime, elderflower leaf, crunchy starfruit, unripe peaches and faint smoked undertones. It's crisp and mineral-laden with flavours of salted limes. Slick and savoury it's also dry and mouthwatering with a pithy finish.
