Earthy, fresh, savoury.
The Leuci wines are all kosher, and made by the Leuci family, which has been operating since 1924, thus the company name Lucio Leuci is a tribute to the hard work of the current owners' grandfather. Today the grandchildren and brothers, Francesco and Lucio, devote themselves completely to produce the wines, a testament to their native land in Salento. Their grapes are all estate grown from 30 hectares; of these 22 hectares are planted with the Negroamaro grape variety, three are planted with Montepulciano and five with Chardonnay.
Fresh earthy aromas are woven with sweet cherry, vanilla, bacon fat and roasted nuts. It has a supple entry and notable freshness with flavours of dark berries, hazelnut, coffee and brown spices. It's a straightforward red best suited to meals with red or white grilled meats, red sauces, rich soups and stews.
