Golden, honeyed, delicious.
Pioneering a new winemaking region near Lillooet, in the Fraser Canyon, Fort Berens is making wines from their estate vineyard blended with Okanagan Valley fruit. In the case of the 2015 Pinot Gris, part of the fruit comes from the Similkameen (19%).
Expect aromas of creamed pears and yellow apples muddled with honey, and layered with exuberant citrus notes and spring blossoms. Off-dry with a bit of boozyness on the palate; creamy, warm and concentrated. .
Pair: chicken salad, mushroom dishes and oily fish dishes.
