Charming, bouncy, jubilant.
This Venetian red is a blend of Merlot and the local Corvina grape. It is a type of appassimento; the result of late harvesting, leaving the grapes to hang on the vine longer. This can be an appealing or a distracting character. In the case of this wine is shows jubilant purple fruit, licorice, vanilla, a potpourri of dried violets and cedar chips. The palate is just as charming and bouncy as the nose. Fresh and approachable, with fine, textural tannins and a youthful demeanor.
A lovely step up from the last vintage of this wine.
