Consistent, creamy, fresh.
I've long been a fan of South Africa's Chenin Blancs - they come in many guises and the Spier is a great starting point - it's equally affordable and tasty.
I've been reviewing this wine for a decade and its consistency is notable.
The 2019 delivers transparent aromas of yellow apple, honey, grapefruit and wildflowers with just a hint of its minimal oak fermentation (5%). Influenced by juicy tree fruits, lemongrass and citrus flavours, the palate has a lively character and slightly creamy texture, and at this price it's a buy-by-the-case.
Pair: Fish, spicy cuisines, white meats, summer salads and soft cheeses.
Pairs Great with Gone Crackers Roasted Shallot & Herb
