Dry, tangy, lengthy.
The cooperative cellar of the winegrowers of Castelas was created in 1952 when a handful of winegrowers combine efforts to develop the wines of the Cotes du Rhone, Cotes du Rhone Villages Signargues, AOP Tavel and IGP du Gard. The cellar's vineyards covers 450 hectares mainly in Cotes du Rhone with a combined 45 families of cooperative winegrowers.
This Tavel AOP ruby (the image makes it look paler than in real life) rose is a blend of Grenache (60%), Syrah (20%), Clairette (10%) and the remaining 10% is equal parts Carignan and Cinsault.
Ruby red and dripping with cherry, tangy wild berries, honey, charred orange peel, earth, dried strawberries and garrigue aromas. It's dry and earthy in the mouth with racy acidity and notable power. The finish ls lengthy. Admirable.
