Fragrant, spicy, fresh.
While the newly turned Rust Wine Co. (formerly Rustico Farm & Cellars owned by the colourful, Bruce Fuller) is located on Golden Mile Drive and is one of the handful of wineries allowed to use the designation, this wine comes from the the Lost Horn Vineyard in Okanagan Falls. It spent 13 months in French oak (20% new) barrels, maturing.
It's a medium-bodied wine with fragrant black currents, spice, tobacco, cedar chips and leather aromas. Savoury, spicy and meaty with flavours of currents, tobacco and spiced cocoa to mimic the nose.
Pair: white meats, blue cheese, red sauces.
