Nestled along the Shuswap River in Enderby, north of Vernon, and far north of Kelowna, Waterside Winery was recently acquired by a family from Alberta.
Marachel Foch is a hybrid French variety that used to be more prevalent in British Columbia due to its hardy character.
This one has a pretty nose, lifted and juicy with red cherries and vanilla, sweet spices and pipe tobacco aromas. The palate is lean and tart and its age is showing in the mouth, bruised cherries and prune flavours linger on a still fresh finish.
