Wild, green, angular.
A blend of (60%) Merlot, (19%) Cabernet Franc and (21%) Cabernet Sauvignon, estate and Okanagan fruit, this year's meritage from Fort Berens has some real angles. Wild herbs and green bell peppers, toasted spice and cocoa, rubber/iodine and smokey undertones dominate the nose. The palate is similarly inclined; coffee, bittersweet chocolate, herbal and bell pepper green notes, rubber and smoked spices. The fruit seems to have dropped off, or was baked off during a hot season...
