This Bordeaux blend (Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon) was aged in French and American oak and its name, Hee-Hee-Tel-Kin is an Okanagan Sylix term to describe an elusive and mystical high country Alpine stag.
The wine has the Okanagan stamp; cherries, currents and tobacco, toasted oak and spice, chocolate and sage with peppery spices. It has a fresh entry, then skin tannins really kick in dominating the palate and the fruit underneath. Bitter cocoa, toasted spice and tobacco linger. It has a coarseness that can be softened by serving with food; protein or even just some aged cheese.
