Singular, generous, charming.
Here is another lovely vintage of the Monte del Fra, which hails from Custoza, only 15km from Lake Garda near Verona. It is a very unique blend of Garganega, Trebbiano Toscano, Tocai Friulano, Cortese, Chardonnay-Riesling Italico-Malvasia and Incrocio Manzoni from a vineyard more than 40 years old.
It's a perfume of honeysuckle, and beeswax, golden fruits and bitter almond, with a layer of mineral woven seamlessly through. Equally seductive in the mouth it is weighty and honeyed, silky and laden with spice and lemon curd flavours. A singular wine, full of charm and character.
Pair: Oysters, sushi, sashimi, white meats and glazed duck.
