Alan and Amy Dickinson began their winemaking journey in 2010 after purchasing a 5-acre partially planted south-facing property above Okanagan Falls. The existing Riesling was planted and they added more Riesling vines and Pinot Noir. Alan's parents John and Kirsty joined them and they purchased an adjoining property bringing the total estate to 107 acres. They predominantly make Rieslings today with a Pinot Noir and a Cabernet Franc.
The grapes for this wine come from Charles and Linda Long's vineyard. From the site: The Long's "oversee organic farming practices on this Riesling block, located up above the Naramata Village on an alluvial fan of mostly calcium carbonate. The gentle southern slope provides very even and balanced ripening with great acid retention and gentle structure as well as a propensity for botrytis."
This Riesling is completely different from the others Synchromesh makes. It has a much earthier and more muted nose; expect lemon zest and peach stone, dried flowers and yuzu. While off-dry it is mouthwatering and has a slick, almost glycerol texture. Expect notable intensity and primary citrus and citrus peel flavours. The finish is crunchy and racy.
