Savoury, succulent, supple.
Located on the Golden Mile Bench, Culmina was established by the Triggs family (of Jackson-Triggs fame) in 2007 and was sold in 2019 to Arterra Wines Canada.
This significant Syrah was aged 16-months in new (25%) and two-year-old (75%) French oak.
Seriously savoury it delivers notes of blackened plums, blackberry and bacon fat, rubber tire and roasted coffee, molasses, spice rub, rare steak and melting dark chocolate. The entry is supple and it has a boozy intensity. Inky and succulent with roasted beets charred oak, toasted brown spice and espresso, which trails on the finish with more dark chocolate.
