Fresh, juicy youthful.
Kitsch Wines is a Kelowna winery, established by born and raised Okanagan residents, Trent and Ria Kitsch. Winemaker Graham Pierce (formerly Black HIlls and Time Winery) joined just last year.
The 5 Barrel Pinot Noir comes from a single vineyard; it was hand harvested, fermented in small lots and aged in French oak (60% new) for eight months.
Cedar chips and violets, raspberry jam and star anise, roasted beets, pipe tobacco, leather and forest floor aromas lead to a sweet and silky entry. It's primed with juicy red berries and five spice, cigar and forest floor flavours, the finish is more angular and youthful.
I'd lay this one down for a couple years.
