The 170 year old Gancia is located in Canelli, Piedmont and is home to UNESCO underground cathedrals. Carlo Gancia studied Champagne making in Reims prior to establishing Fratelli Ganci in 1850 with his brother Edoardo. They began making sparkling wine from the local Moscato grape; Gancia claims to be the first Italian sparkling wine in 1865.
While this Prosecco is made in Veneto, within the DOC of Prosecco, Gancia makes more than 20 different sparkling wines from Langhe and Veneto in both charmat and traditional methods.
Candied lemons and melon liqueur, rose talc and pear aromas lead to an off-dry and juicy palate that is fruity and bright. Crisp, refreshing and approachable.
