The grapes for this small lot Cabernet Sauvignon are grown on vines planted 16 years ago; it is a warm site on the Golden Mile Bench vineyard--blocks 7 and 8. They vines are French Clone 191 from St. Emillon and clone 169 from Bordeaux. It was barrel aged in primarily French oak for 16 months.
Chocolate covered cherries and cassis, clove, cinnamon, vanilla, licorice and dried flowers describes the opulent nose. Purple berries, chocolate and baking spice flavours lounge on a supple palate. It's also fresh and persistent.
