Rich, power, earthy.
Made solely from grapes from the Sant' Alfonso vineyard, this Chianti Classico was aged 12 months in large French oak barrels. While it's not a riserva, it is a single vineyard wine that offers notes of rich black cherry and strawberry, licorice, leather, chocolate, cedar and balsamic. The palate has a lovely weight and notable sapidity with dark chocolate, cocoa, leather, coffee and earthy flavours. Good power here overall.
