Fragrant, polished, appealing.
Chateau Pascaud is located just south of Galgon, about 7km north of Libourne. The vineyards are comprised of various parcels on well-exposed slopes close to, and in some cases inside the Fronsac appellation. Made entirely from Merlot from vines on average of 40 years, it suggests sweet cherry and vanilla, currants and dried flowers with cedar and chocolate. It has suppleness on the palate and flavours to echo the nose. Generous and smooth, modern and approachable. A very appealing red with polished tannins a long finish.
Second review: December 2024
An inky nose unlines notes of black raspberry and concord grapes, vanilla, strawberry tea and cola spices. It is fresh and elegant with high-toned fruits and flavours of red berries, tealeaf, cedar and dried flowers.
