Charming, fragrant, mature.
Marques de la Concordia has been making wine in Spain for over 150 years. This 100% Tempranillo comes from vines grown in the Alta and Alavesa Rioja, Spain's most prestigious winemaking region.
Being a 2018 it has some age, in part 24 months in a mix of French and American oak, then more in bottle.
Expect a fragrant wine with strawberry compote and dried cherry, tobacco, cedar, saddle leather and star anise. It's leads with high-toned red fruit layered with spice and cigar flavours. Medium-bodied with attractive tertiary character from maturity, it is also charming and drinking nicely now.
Pair with game, lamb, aged cheeses and rich tomato-based sauces.
