Fragrant, restrained, chocolate.
Moon Curser is a boutique Osoyoos-based winery is known to produce a unique assortment of varietals rarely seen in the Okanagan Valley. Wines like this 100% Petit Verdot (generally a blending variety). It was aged in a mix of new (27%) and neutral French oak barriques. Chocolate covered cherries, baking spices, violets and star anise with pipe tobacco appear on the nose. It's far less fruit-forward on the palate, definitely more restraint here, and it's dominated by cocoa, pipe tobacco and spice flavours. Seems leaner than previous vintages.
