Substance, structure, lengthy.
Similkameen Valley's Clos du Soleil makes classic minimal-intervention wines from vines tended with biodynamic practices.
This premium red is a blend of Merlot (47%), Cab Sauv (25%), Cab Franc (23%), Petit Verdot (3%) and Malbec (2%) aged 18 months in French oak barrels.
Expect notes of red currents and blackberries, balsamic and sarsaparilla, umeboshi plums, salted licorice, dry earth and tobacco. The entry is supple and suggests expressive bright red fruit, brown spices, leather and earth with a hint of fleur de sel. Notable structure and length here; a wine of substance. Drink now.
Pairs great with Gone Crackers Canadian Chedder & Chive
