Ripe, warm, slick.
Gold Hill proprietors, the Gill family, have been growing grapes on the slopes of the Golden Mile Bench for 30 years, they made their won wine first in 2009. Today they farm more than 26 hectares around the Okanagan Valley and the wines are made by Val Tait. The warm site produces ripe wines with high alcohol, even this rose weighs in at 14%.
A light apricot~pink shade, it leads with red currents muddled with ripe peach, tangerine, red apple skin and honeydew melon slices. It's luscious and slick on the palate with sweet red fruit, tobacco and savoury spice flavours. It has notable power and a warm finish thanks to the alcohol. It's reminiscent of a Tavel, but in a paler package.
Pairs great with Gone Crackers Blue Cheese & Cracked Pepper
Barbeque, Cheese - Blue, Cheese - Hard/Aged, White Meat Chicken/Pork, Tomatoes and Tomato Sauces, GONE CRACKERS
