Crunchy, racy, dry.
Located in the Cowichan Valley, BC's newest sub-GI, Unsworth is a boutique winery founded in 2010 that was acquired by Barbara Banke and her daughter Julia Jackson (Jackson Family Wines) in the summer of 2020.
Auxerrois is a grape seen primarily in Alsace and Germany (as a blending variety), but there are a few producers in BC as well. It has an austerity--think wet stone minerality and lemon primarily, with green apple, straw fruit and grapefruit peel aromas. The palate is crunchy and dry, an echo of the nose. Lime, green almond, oyster shell and grapefruity flavours dominate in the mouth.
