Concentrated, savoury, intense.
Lunessence launched in 2014 after taking over a property in Summerland.
Their philosophy is hidden also in their name: Lunessence combining luna (moon) + Essence. The moon is also an important part of biodynamic farming that they are implementing. There are no pesticides or herbicides used in their vineyards, and they have a focus on natural wines.
It is a savoury red with plummy notes layered with smoked meats, charred spices, vanilla, bittersweet chocolate and wild blackberries. Toasted and meaty in the mouth as well, it's almost brooding in character. Intense black fruits are woven with soy, balsamic and spice flavours. The finish is supple.
