Spiced, fresh, zesty.
The McWatters Collection (founded by the late Harry McWatters) falls under the Time Family of Wines umbrella and is made at the Chronos Winery (formerly TIME Winery) in downtown Penticton. There are now four wines in this collection, including this Chardonnay.
Roasted chestnut and grilled lemon, brown spices, yellow apples, buttered popcorn and coriander aromas dominate the nose. The palate is an echo of toasted spice, white pepper and lemony flavours. It has good brightness and a zesty, slight salty finish.
Pair: saffron mussels in cream and Chardonnay broth, grilled Dungeness crab and brie brioche, roast chicken, corn chowder and creamy pastas.
