Wonderful, harmonious, complex.
Fillaboa is one of the few wineries in Galicia that makes estate only wines, this single vineyard Finca Monte Alto is located in the misty hilltops of Rias Baixas, south facing and with sandy gravelly, loamy soils. It was aged 12 months in stainless steel vats with lees stirring before bottling.
Having a few years of maturity has lent this wine complex character. It has an electric yellow hue and delves into aromas of preserved lemons, lanolin, wildflowers and quince jelly and dried pineapple atop mineral notes. Rich and lemony the palate is notably weighty and slick, harmonious and persistent.
Wonderful.
