A Vancouver Urban Cidery, Windfall was started by couple Jeff and Nathaly. They fell in love with cider in Mexico City and now make their own using traditional techniques and experimental: yeast strains, fermentation and aging.They use fruits and botanicals from the Pacific Northwest.I'm a huge cider fan and try any I can get my hands on, so was looking forward to a new offering.
This one, Hail Mary has wonderful packaging and is a blend of apples and berries. It has a pale peachy hue and offers smoky apple skin, tart berry and citrusy notes with hints of hops or herbs. A unique offering, but for me it lacks the precision, acidity and juiciness I crave.
