Fresh, savoury, balance.
One Faith Vineyards is owned by businessman Bill Lui who has his WSET and has taken winemaking courses through UC Davis in California. He is joined by Richard Cleve a veteran Okanagan viticulturalist who planted the (now) One Faith Black Sage vineyard in Oliver in 1992. They make nine wines including this Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot blend, which is fermented in small batches and aged in French oak barrels for 14 months.
Green bell pepper and dusty plum aromas are layered with black currants and leather, tobacco, bacon fat, green olives, toasted spice and dark chocolate; there are vague lactic undertones. The palate entry is fresh, it's medium+ bodied with chocolate, tobacco, spice, wild herbs and smoked meat flavours. Nice balance overall.
