Taylor Fladgate holds one of the most extensive reserves of very old cask aged Port of any producer. They include a collection of rare Single Harvest Ports--Ports from a single year which age to full maturity in seasoned oak casks and display the year of harvest on the label. Each year, Taylor Fladgate makes a limited release of a Single Harvest Port made 50 years previously.
The sixth in the series is this 1969 Single Harvest.
More restrained than the 1968 it shows notes of dried apples, fig, dried cherry, Christmas cake with hazelnuts, molasses and peat. It also has more angularity than the '68 but notable brightness. Concentrated and elongated it boasts nutty espresso flavours across the finish.
