Taylor Fladgate holds one of the most extensive reserves of very old cask aged Port of any producer. They include a collection of rare Single Harvest Ports--Ports from a single year which age to full maturity in seasoned oak casks and display the year of harvest on the label. Each year, Taylor Fladgate makes a limited release of a Single Harvest Port made 50 years previously.
The seventh in the series is this 1970 Single Harvest.
An elegant muddle of dried strawberries, quince paste, charred orange peel and exotic spice atop savoury herbal and cedary notes. It has a fleshy, succulent palate; toffee and quince and coffee liqueur flavours dominate and the finish is both fresh and endless.
