Yalumba, Australia's Oldest Family run winery turned 175 on November 17, 2024.
One of their Rare & Fine Collection wines is The Octavius, which has been made in part from vines planted in 1854!
The average age of the vines in this bottle is 1915, which are from both Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. It has a plushness and intensity thanks to those old vines; red fruits and earth and licorice with tobacco and fine spices. Thepalate echos the nose with concentration and flavours of cherry and brown spices. The tannins are cocoa fine and the finish elegant and lengthy.
