Golden, toasted, fresh.
This Chardonnay is aged in very large oak vats called foudre, which prevents less juice to wood contact, which means less oakiness and more fruit expression in the finished wine. The style of the barrel also allows less air penetration, thereby less oxidization in the wine.
Smoky and buttery with voluptuous golden fruit, toasted pastries and grilled lemons. The palate is equally buttery and spicy with light toast. Substantive yet juicy, with overall great value. Pair: Crab ravioli, corn on the cob, smoked Gouda, creamy soups and pastas.
