A Vancouver Urban Cidery, Windfall was started by couple Jeff and Nathaly. They fell in love with cider in Mexico City and now make their own using traditional techniques and experimental: yeast strains, fermentation and aging.They use fruits and botanicals from the Pacific Northwest.
I'm a huge cider fan and try any I can get my hands on, so was looking forward to a new offering. This one, Wild Card, is made using BC apples and hops. While I am not a fan of hoppy beer, I've really enjoyed a couple of local deftly-hopped ciders immensely. This one tastes just as it claims, crunchy apples and hops, atop dusty undertones.
I like the potential of this one, but it's a little too hoppy for my personal taste.
